NETGEAR Insight App For Windows

Forcing updates is not customer-friendly. Every time I need to quickly check something within an app, I must update it. It takes me less time to do this because I live in an area with fast internet. However, it would be much more convenient to just say no, then check the information, and then update my app. This might be a problem for people who have slow internet or on metered plans.

This is not a Meraki replacement (for switches), but I'm polite to say that Netgear offers many possibilities for growth and improvement compared to their competition. I manage network switches because it's what I do currently. It's not a pleasant experience. It was slow and tedious, but it wasn't well implemented. We hope they can rebuild the entire building from scratch soon. Great idea, poor execution.

It doesn't work with routers. The app was not able to connect to my router at first. To get my laptop up and running, I had to hardwire it. That was easy. This app is garbage. It won't even connect to the router.

Each update adds more functionality, for the most part. Although I was initially skeptical of the interface and hardware, I have become more familiar with the "insight” line of hardware/gui. It would be great to have more buttons and dials in the web console and app. It would be great to have more global configuration options so it can be extended to select hardware. It would be great to combine the features available in the "local" interface of the app with the insight console.

Worthless. Three new GS752TPS switch; figured application may be useful for initial deployment preparation...but it's not! Discovery takes 20+ seconds; refresh is required for every navigation action. It will hang and require force. I tried to change the IP of the switch, but that didn't work. It made it unrecognisable to both the app and my network. Can't even get it to ping now. The only benefit was the registration of the switch. Netgear looks to Ruckus, a company that offers viable IT tools through their mobile applications.

December 2020 Updated: I just received an email stating that the basic subscription is being discontinued. The first two devices were free with the Basic Subscription. This BS reason is that they are charging $10 per year. It's "because our customers need a mobile and web experience." It's a classic bait-and-switch. You can change your business model to attract new customers. But you should not break existing customer agreements. Initial 5-star review: Although I had low expectations for this app, it exceeded them all. Many of the 2018 issues that people complained about have been resolved.

Updated today, and it now crashes each time it opens. It has crashed several times. I tried rebooting the phone several times. I have not received any bug fixes. I had just started to use the product for less than 2 weeks. Now it is dead in water. 6/12/2019: Uninstalled the app, restarted my phone and installed it again. Everything seems to work fine. I will check the updates and let you know what happens. I am pleased with the process of logging in and accessing my data. It looks like I'm ready to continue my trial and test. Thank you for all your help.

This app is terrible. This app is terrible. I've had 6 Netgear routers, plus extenders, switches and powerline Ethernet devices. Just bought an OrbiPro, which is really great. I tried this app, following the instructions on the little paper inside the box. 2 hours later it failed to find my device. I then configured the Orbi via its website, and all went well. The app finally recognized my router and now works well.

The app has no purpose. The installation manual for my netgear switch told me that I needed to use this app in order to set it up. After I registered, the app tried to convince me to buy a subscription I didn't want. Then, the app couldn't manage my switch and instead directed me to the web UI. The link to the app was broken so I had to type the IP to get to the web UI. It was a complete waste of my time.

It has very limited functionality when compared with native web interface. When you switch to Insight, it will reset your config. My wireless networks were taken offline and a second DHCP Server was installed on my network. This caused all sorts of issues.

"Don't buy Netgear"! I have purchased several business insights devices. They are poor in performance and support. Netgear is unable to fix Insight's vulnerability. They offer 50% discount on an expensive orbi router. Gracious company. Before I go back to China, I will buy Chinese. Insight prices go up from being "free", to be charged with no warnings. If there is a class action lawsuit, I am in! Netgear

The app won't let me access "Visit Web interface" However, the app works fine when I use the browser to enter the switch's ip. A NETGEAR GS108Ev3 is my computer.

It keeps failing to establish an account when I try to use this app via my wireless router. I don't know what to do.

It was simple to use and yet advanced enough to do the job right. I would call it Great, cool, it made me happy! !

It's a useless app. It is connecting to my router and all connected devices are connected. It sounds good so far. BUT. It worked! The app searches for your router, and it finds it by model, serial number, and ip address. So far, so good. Let's create an account so we can manage our router. You will see the NO INTERNET CONNECTION message when you click on the button to create an account. What is the point of this when your router already provides internet connectivity to all patched devices? !!!!?????! !$@$##.
