Night Owl X App For Windows

Night Owl is a disappointing system. Sometimes the app won't connect. Sometimes it will detect the shadow of clouds moving, but miss a car moving down the driveway. If there's no connection I was advised to log out, then log back in. Didn't help! Time after time the disappointment continues The system detects our flowers in the wind but will not pick up a truck blocking the driveway. It doesn't matter if multiple vehicles are driving in front of it. Unbelievable!! !

The same problems as others. The app is very slow and the camera doesn't show up until I close it and reopen it several times. Playback is not working or showing enough playsbacks is an insult. There are always connection problems and hot fixes. Everything works great on the TV. It is a terrible app and night owl clearly doesn't want to do anything about it.

App took forever to open. It may take several restarts before the app works. Now, video playback doesn't work. The 'video finished' message appears and I receive a snapshot of the file. The app is pretty useless right now. It was so ineffective that I tried to reinstall the app. It was very disappointing. It's time to look elsewhere for a security device with more reliability.

Night Owl has been my security system for over 3 years. The app works well, but it is not as reliable as I would like. It doesn't seem to work every single time. It's been terrible, glitchy and no longer working properly. It hasn't worked well for me for six months, maybe longer.

Why does Android Night Owl's phone keep switching to SD even though I have switched to HD? It isn't full. It was actually empty. Night Owl has not fixed the app problems despite numerous negative reviews. There are always excuses for it not being fixed, but over the years there have been no fixes or changes. This is why there are so many negative reviews! Axis is my choice. They are terrible support and a joke. They collect the checks but don't do anything to improve the service or app. Bye!

Useless. This camera system is useless. It often shows black screens or devices offline. It is terrible to playback. It takes a lot of time to load new recordings. 95% won't load at all and say they can not play. Evidently, the company does not care. Despite all negative reviews, the app has not been updated for 3-4 years. It will never be fixed.

It leaves a lot to wish. It takes you to the clip, not just when you get notified that motion has been detected. Click the notification to go to playback. Then click on the date and click search to find the clip. It's easy to watch clips. You can show length and position, as well as the ff/rewind buttons. Play and pause are all you need. It is an app that has been poorly constructed and put together.

They are very affordable, easy to set up, and work well. The app however is horrible. The app only works about 1/3 of the times. The loading process takes forever so that by the time the cameras are visible, the thing I want to see is already over. The app doesn't save half the videos or a completely different one. Many of the features don't work correctly the first or second time.

It no longer works. This app was up and running in 3 months without any problems. The app's quality was poor and the mics wouldn't work, but it wasn’t a big problem. It now shows only black screens for all cameras. It started to happen a few days back when I installed the tablet app onto my tablet. Since then, neither of the devices has worked. The other app isn't up-to-date in four years. This one isn't updated in more than two and a quarter years.

It is okay. The app connects well and the live view is fine. Landscape mode is not available in the app. When I attempt to see a single camera in landscape, it either doesn't load or loads only one frame per ten seconds. The playback mode can be cumbersome, slow and sometimes doesn't function properly. You can only search for videos to playback one at a moment. Also, the oldest recording is the first to load. It may take several minutes before the newer video appears.

meh. The app and cameras work well, as compared with my Bunker Hill system. Although it is an improvement in many ways, the app could still use more work. It could be even better for only 440$. It's a bit confusing, and I haven’t yet figured out how to fix it. The time is set to 9am, but it will show 1 hour and 2 hours. You cannot skip the app mobile. Just pause, then play. This is a huge minus. This is not something I want to do.

The app and the camera system were great. Over the last few days the DVR has not been able to connect to the app. Two different smartphones tried, one android and the other an apple. I have logged into system settings and checked for connections, address, etc. It appears when I try to search for my DVR network on the app. I then enter my administrator password, which I just changed, and it returns as unsuccessful. It doesn't make any sense. It doesn't make sense.

This is the most horrible surveillance app I have ever used. If you touch one of the view views, your phone will panic. The video stops working when I choose a full-screen view. This is the most horrible app I've ever used. You can't fast-forward a video or zoom in to specific points during the day. Zooming is possible, but that's the only reason why I gave it a One Star rating. The app worked great with my qsee before, and it was easy to connect to my device.

Notifications from apps don't work. You can't fast-forward, rewind or search for a particular time in continuous recordings. It is nearly impossible to reply to motion email alerts. Motion captures are not saved to the DVR if they occur in continuous recording. This is great if you need to view live video from your cameras. It is totally useless if you need to react to an incident that could be deemed a security threat.

Edited to say: Many are experiencing the same problems with no footage and a black screen. The same problem was happening to me. This was fixed by uninstalling the DVR app and then reinstalling the device. It works perfectly now. It works perfectly now. I hope this helps others who are experiencing problems. Change the rating to three stars. App updates will get an extra star.
