UWorld's USMLE App provides mobile access to your Qbanks and Self assessments.
It is very useful and serves its purpose. It is a great app and I recommend it. I would recommend that you ensure the page doesn't "turn" to next question if a user is viewing a table of values or sets of values. If the answer is no, please reduce the size of the table so that everything fits into the original field.
Highlighting text is my biggest complaint about the app. It would be great if the option to highlight text was added. This feature works in the PC version of Uworld. This feature is needed because clicking on highlight icons and text can be time-consuming.
Although it works great, it does not allow you to take a screenshot. This makes it hard to communicate with friends regarding questions. Amboss offers a special feature that allows you to ask friends questions. UWorld will be unable to market itself and frustrate its users.
I can't see previous tests. The only thing I can do is to create new tests. App is completely out-of-synchrony with the website, so no previous progress can been seen.
You can see a white screen between each question. Night mode is almost impossible because of this screen. Why is News the default homepage screen? It's so strange!
To add new content to a notebook takes forever. Before I can see "Add Content Here", I must select the text at minimum 4 times. This is frustrating and time-consuming. It is worth looking into.
It's a good app, but screen shots like on pc are not possible. I know that it violates privacy, but for students, it can be extremely helpful in taking notes.
This is despite the fact that we have 5G internet. Image and diagram loading times are over a century. Please provide value for your money and resolve this problem ASAP !
If you use UWORLD, and would like to know more about UWORLD's phone version. It's perfect! You can rely on it for everything you require. It's one of the most valuable medical resources on the market, for those who are new to UWORLD. UWORLD is my favorite medical resource. 1. Excellently answered all questions. Excellent explanations. There are more flow charts, tables and diagrams than most books in medical literature. 3. They are a great flashcard system that you can slowly build as you put them to the test.
This is my frustration as a paid member. It shows that i don't have fast internet and it takes almost 30 minutes to log in today.
(1) Minimum 8 taps with lengthy loading pauses between to get back to the previous question. This design is extremely bad. The user should immediately be able to go back to their last question. Poor interface navigation makes it difficult to use a mobile application that is only used for a short time. (1) Why not have a dialogue asking users if they would like to resume tests that are in tutor mode? In tutor mode, there is no time limit. This interface element is just another bad one that slows down the workflow. (3) Slow, slow, slow. This app is text-based. A text-based app must be available immediately in 2018, according to the 2018 ICT standards. UWorld's long-standing history of prioritizing IP protection over user experience may explain this. (4) Cost – exploitative (5) Sometimes does not keep records of answers submitted. It would be easy to make two online and one offline arrays and then consolidate the data if necessary. It's difficult to see where priorities lie in the company, and this is only one of many puzzling oversights.
It works great, even when you have poor internet quality. There are many features that make it easy to use (pause, test, and set parameters). It would be great to also have offline access, so you can take a test online, answer quickly, then reconnect to complete the test.
The app doesn't work with chrome OS, even on my mini-PC. Although the main menu works, nothing can be seen on the screen when you go into testing mode. It works perfectly on my other devices so I'm giving it 4/5.
For the first few days, it worked perfectly. It now can't log into the app when it is on a mobile network, but it works fine on any public WiFi. The customer service is very ineffective and provides only general replies, apparently not even taking the time to read the problem description. However, the question bank is fantastic...
While it is helpful to know the information, practice makes perfect. UWorld has the best question banks. They cover every high-yield concept and provide great explanations. Although it is quite costly, the value of UWorld is well worth it.
