ADT Control ® App For Windows

It is very difficult to view live video. I find it easier to get up and look out the window than to view live video streaming from my phone. It just doesn't work. My only love is the ability to turn my alarm off and on from my smartphone. The app itself is terrible. Google nest is used by my family to instantly see all the live streaming. It's absurd that we don't.

The app's limited functionality makes it very fragile. Vivint's poor equipment was the reason I quit. ADT seemed like a better option. Although the equipment works well, they lack in tech. The panels and app are lacking many features I had come to expect from V. I am very disappointed in this app, and I wouldn't recommend it.

It takes minimum three minutes to play video back after an alert has been created. This is unacceptable. It is possible for quite a bit to happen within that short time period. Notifications are usually sent within 15 seconds of movement. My worst experience is with notifications that are sent 4 minutes after movement. Even if I was not under contract, I'd ring again. It's a huge disappointment. I expected so much more.

The app is difficult to use. The wall control system should offer more choices, such as door status and weather. Unfortunately, the owner doesn't have the same control as ADT.

1 star based upon UI flaw. To select an individual video to be deleted or locked, you must touch the PRECISION button on the radio or it will open the video. Any touch in the left column should permit selection (time, date, and event type). Recent updates didn't add Object Detection Type "Other", which can cause major confusion. Your QA department should be able to use the software in a slightly real environment.

After a camera detects motion, it takes three minutes for a notification to be sent. The app doesn't always load correctly when you're out of the country. If you are willing to wait 3 minutes for notifications, the app will work well at home. This app is not reliable when I'm traveling. It sometimes fails to load and defeats its purpose. Ring is better. I use it.

The following are my major issues: It takes a long time for the events to be reported in the app, and I receive a notification on my mobile phone. 2. Rarely, events, particularly from the doorbell generate a saved clip oder screenshot. 3. My ADP devices are not connected 40% of the times, both remote and on the same WiFi network. Ring has been far superior!

The event recordings seem to be very randomly generated and are useless for the servailence cam. It keeps defaulting back to 20 events, and I don't see any new. The best thing so far is the ability to arm and disarm from your phone. All the rest seem way too expensive in comparison.

The app crashes every time I try to see the live feed from my phone. This is one of the most important aspects of owning the app. This feature would be great! The doorbell can't detect individuals like normal cameras. But, it doesn't matter if the app or device is too sensitive. !

It takes quite a long time to load any app, even on WiFi. You can't change your settings or access passwords, nor do you have any way to reset or disable equipment. It is difficult to reach a technician, and customer service can only reroute your call to an authorized dealer in the area. This keeps bankers busy. I am now thinking about security services that might be more beneficial to the user.

ADT App is only for technical support? It is difficult to find the right information and very little guidance. What if I have a camera doorbell but it is not showing up in the ADT App? (Google app required.) Without an external chime, the doorbell will not ring inside your house! Does every single smart home device require a separate app?? Leak detectors, for example. Do all features or devices require an "expert" to come out and inspect your house? It is extremely primitive. Disappointing.

ADT pulse is much more powerful. You can use Pulse to disarm your system, but not automatically arm it. A salesman said I could set up an automated Disarm system to occur at a particular time using Control. Only if your system has been automatically arm, can you use the application to disarm it. System and Pulse are more confusing than the app. Pulse was not my favorite. I have had the Pulse system for more than 8 years. It's something I never thought would be so important to me.

Update April 2, 2022: I am still very unhappy with ADT. Since more than 2 years, I've tried every trick to make their horrible surveillance camera stay connected. I have tried everything to get their terrible surveillance camera to stay connected. This includes replacing it not only once, but also three more times, replacing the Wi-Fi range extender and finally, replacing my AT&T gateway because the ADT technician stated that the gateway Wi Fi signal strength fluctuated. The problem is still unsolved, it's not surprising. I surrender.

One exception to the app's good performance is that it does not work well. For half a year, I have lived far from the place where the system was installed. ADT has advised me several times to reset my system. However, this is not possible in a remote area. The annoying automated calls keep me on the phone, reminding me to go back and reset. Yesterday, one of my cameras died and troubleshooting suggested that I reset it. Reduce the number of useless calls. Please make it possible for me to remotely reset my system.

Since 2019, I have used the service. I had issues connecting to my wifi network for the app that allows me to ring home. When I'm not there, I cannot connect to the app and see who is at my door. My phone was stolen and I cannot log in to it. The app won't send me the link via email for my username or password. The app kept doing the exact same thing after I removed it. Their service is not satisfactory to me. It's no use having an alarm when you don't have the ability to set it.
