If you're interested in using BBC Media Player on your PC or Mac, you may be wondering how to download the app and get started. Fortunately, there are many resources available online that can guide you through the process similar to this article.

BBC Media Player App For Windows

This app has been around for 2 years. I love listening to the radio on television so it is a great tool. The app works but it is not perfect. The player will not play after a time, or there is constant buffering. It can be especially frustrating when using radio because half of the time, the app doesn't open at all. It works about 80% of time.

Play a clip from the BBC News app to get this installed. The top third of the screen is filled with a huge banner that informs me the app will not work in 2020. Also, the x on the banner does not work and I can't remove it. A larger square appears with a button that offers some privacy agreements. It opens a browser when I click on that button. The video player screen appears with the message "The video cannot be played".

The Rubbish App was all that I needed to listen to radio at work. To do this, I had to download the app. You will still need to visit the BBC website in order to access the program you wish to hear. It's not easy, consumes a lot of data and can drain your battery.

Doesn't work. It doesn't work. I was able to watch video within BBC News. However, there are increasing numbers of reports that require this app. The first time I tried, the app gave me an error. Second attempt it did not load. It's a poor program for a World Leading Broadcaster... but they think that their technology can compete with Netflix.

App very unreliable - the app plays for five minutes, then it freezes and the video stops playing. I had to force the app to quit. Go to the BBC YouTube page and launch the video once again. The problem persists despite having tried all the recommended troubleshooting steps and many more. Solution: Remove the app from your smartphone and watch the video directly on your laptop or computer. Save the memory to make sure that the device functions properly.

It is ridiculously battery-hungry. This wouldn't happen if content was accessed natively via a browser. Final Score took up 35% of my time in just 85 minutes. My Note 9 can stream 4 hours of content from other sites for less than half the cost. To be completely clear: I use this app only because there is no alternative. It doesn't allow you to change the aspect ratio. This app is just terrible. Although this app is free, my license fee will cost me a lot more than other apps. You should expect more from me.

I don't like being required to download an app in order to use BBC Iplayer. It shouldn't take up too much space on my smartphone. It is saved somewhere else so that I can watch the programme when I need it. It's pointless to receive emails regarding programmes that I may be interested in, if the video I have been given is not available for me to watch. This is very annoying!

BBC seems to be lacking talented programmers. They should create an app that streams all content, live or recorded, whether it is cloud, download, radio, or audio. There is no need to create a media player and iPlayer or radio player as well as a news site, foreign version, and iPlayer. It is a waste to make so many apps when only one can. Shame on the BBC for being such a wasteful company and then claiming that they want more. Be more efficient.

It worked fine with my Android tablet. It stopped working in early 2019. The video seems to be loading incessantly. To view any BBC video, I have to copy its URL into my browser. It is possible to fix the problem. Samsung Tab S4 8", with all the latest apps. All other apps that I use have worked fine.

Do not download this app. BBC News will bring you to this page if you click on any videos - even though you don't need to. Even though you can watch BBC news in the USA, all their programs are blocked beyond the UK. The exception being 30 second news clips. This app is not necessary. You can simply go to the video and it will start playing without you having downloaded.

It was great! It's a little annoying that this app must be downloaded to view educational videos or any other video. But it's great! It's a great educational video that my little cousin enjoys watching! He can sometimes be too addicted. We give him four stars Excellent app There are no bugs or glitches (although there may be a few but not all apps). It's incredible! It's incredible!

BBC ensures that the advert video is shown before any news videos. However, most news videos don't start to roll or waste a lot of time buffering after they have. BBC must do more to ensure that you are able to watch videos. ?

It doesn't work. BBC keeps replacing "improved apps" with working apps. IPlayer worked well for radio before the introduction of the app 'Sounds. The same applies to videos, before the BBC introduced a poorly written and implemented 'Media Player. The BBC doesn't seem to know how to test and release their IT products properly. The BBC is now a sub-third rate broadcaster and my first choice, whereas it was once my top choice.

It is absurd. It forces me to use BBC's media player if I use its news app. Another install! I used the share icon to get the link and copied it into my web browser. It works perfectly.

BBC iPlayer forces me to install this app to view videos. If the BBC Media Player app had all of the features available on the iPlayer, this would have been acceptable. This is because I was able to send the video from my Chromecast to my Chromecast, but it's no longer possible. If feature parity can be achieved, I will reconsider my review.
